How Gravity Works
How do we detect these false peaks? Our engine looks for a mismatch between categories. We use data from The Economist Intelligence Unit and The Heritage Foundation. If a country has low Institutional Integrity but high economic scores, a flag is raised.
The "Gravity Anchor" then pulls the score down. It applies a mathematical cap based on the safety and legal metrics. Somalia now has an economic score of 4.0. This is lower than before but more honest. It reflects a nation where the state cannot guarantee the value of its money.
Real Wealth vs. Paper Wealth
Why does this matter for regular people? Investors look for Macroeconomic Stability before they build factories. If they trust a false 10.0 score, they lose their capital. Our corrected rankings protect reality.
In Switzerland, the 9.4 score is real. The courts are strong. The government is honest. In Yemen, the 4.1 score shows the heavy cost of war and broken institutions. Power cannot exist without a floor.
